Using the Fireplace

In this video, we'll walk you through how to use the fireplace at our Ballantine Property. Start by opening the screen door—you should see a small flame, the pilot light, already lit towards the back of the fireplace. Next, locate the small black rod near the base of the log stand. Turn it counter-clockwise to increase the gas flow and ignite the fire. You can adjust the flame size by turning the rod further. To turn off the fireplace, simply turn the same black rod clockwise until the flames fade out. It’s perfectly normal for the small pilot light to remain lit after you’ve finished using the fire. Please avoid using any other keys or tools to adjust the valves during your stay, as this helps ensure the fireplace remains in good working condition for all guests.
